Elementary Schools Master Scheduling
What to Bring to Training
The Lunch schedule survey has to be completed and submitted in Confluence by the school principal before training can be scheduled.
- ALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SCHEDULERS MUST ATTEND ONE TRAINING CLASS.
- Scheduling tool rights will be given ONLY to those schedulers who attend training.
- Registration for a class is mandatory to receive the scheduling tool rights necessary during training.
- Classes will be limited to 4 people per session. We must keep the classes to a minimum to be able to assist attendees individually with their next year’s schedules after the training takes place.
- Register for only one training class. You can also register for one open lab when they are available.
- Registration will close the day before each class.
- Only registered users will be permitted to attend. NO WALK-INS!
- Be prompt – the classes will begin on time to allow enough time to work on next year’s schedules.
- Have the following information with you when attending the training (if next year’s information requested below is not available, bring the current information):
- Next year’s number of classes in each grade level.
- Next year’s teachers for each class, including room numbers if available.
- Next year’s number of special ed classrooms.

Certify Training
Come join us for an informal training session on Certify! The Department of Accountability is very proud of the work being done in all of our buildings to make our data the best it can be! With the addition of the Certify tool this semester, we are seeing great gains in our data accuracy! We are offering this checkpoint to make sure that all staff have the information they need to be as successful as possible.
In this one-hour session, you’ll get information on:
- Checking your Score Card
- Logging in to Certify
- Understanding your Data Quality Score
- How to resolve common issues and improve your score
- New rules coming to Certify – and how you can get ahead of the game!
There will also be time to ask any questions you may have. While this training is not required, we encourage all secretaries, counselors and administrators to attend. Even if all staff cannot attend, we highly recommend sending representatives from each building to share information learned. Please remember to share this with long-term subs if you have one in your building Sessions are only one hour, so you can get back to your buildings as quickly as possible. PLEASE NOTE: Substitutes will not be provided, so please plan for coverage accordingly.

Great News - Section Groups!
If you teach the same class multiple times, and give the same assignments to the students in all of the classes, you can create a combined view in the grade book! The use of Section Groups allows a teacher to group similar sections together in a single grade book view. This option makes scoring assignments easier by combining matching assignments into shared columns in the grade book. See below or click here for detailed information. Keep in mind that not all functions are available while in the group view. For example, Categories and Grade Calc Options are not available.
Creating Section Groups
- Click Section Groups from the Settings menu of the Grade Book.
- Click Add to create a new group.
- Enter a Name for the group.
- Enter a Seq(uence) for the group.
- Select a Sort option to sort the section list by Active sections (those marked to be included in the group), by Period, or alphabetically by Course Name.
- Mark the Active checkbox next to sections to include in the group. The Terms in which each section meets are provided.
- Select a Color for each section, which displays as a small bar next to each student's name.
- Enter a Seq(uence) to order the sections horizontally in the Grade Book.
- Click Save to create the group.
Once you've created Section Groups, to see the combined classes in the grade book view, select the group from the drop-down menu in the Section field of the grade book.
