Attendance Office

Every Minute Counts!  The key to our student’s success is attendance in school. Columbus City Schools takes attendance on every student every day!  All students arriving after the school's designated start time must be recorded on the Late Arrival Log.  Likewise, all student's leaving before the end of the school day must be recorded on the Early Leave log.  It’s critical that students check in with the Attendance Office when they arrive.

Students who do not have a schedule are not able to have attendance taken. Students must be scheduled appropriately to have attendance entered and reports generated.

If a student is actively enrolled in another building (not in your building) they must attend the building at which they are actively enrolled.  If a student is present at your building but not enrolled, you need to contact the parent/guardian and have the student picked up from your building. If you cannot contact a parent/guardian, please keep the student on site and contact Safety and Security at (614) 365- 5638 to complete a house check and inform the parent/guardian that their child needs to be picked up from school.  If the student is not actively enrolled at any Columbus City School, please direct the student and parent/guardian to Central Enrollment to complete the online registration and schedule an enrollment appointment.

The Attendance Office in Infinite Campus holds a collection of tools used to enter student attendance information, maintain historical records and generate reports and letters.

Every year, to receive your Infinite Campus tool rights you must first take the Infinite Campus Knowledge Assessments and pass with an 80% or above proficiency.  Attendance tool rights are necessary to be able to enter attendance information in Infinite Campus.  Once you have passed the appropriate PSW assessment you will be given your tool rights.

All assessments are to be completed each school year by a District defined deadline.  If the assessment is completed after the deadline given to all staff, users will need to send in a TDX ticket to have their tool rights activated.

There are two different assessments for attendance.

The Daily Attendance assessment is completed by staff assigned to elementary school and K-6 sites. Daily Attendance will have teachers take attendance once a day.

The Period Attendance assessment is completed by staff assigned to secondary (MS, K-8, & HS) sites. Period Attendance will have teachers take attendance every period.
