Special Education Students

The course selection for Mathematics has been modified for the 20-21 school year. E-denoted courses will only be available to students receiving education in the Least Restricted Environment (LRE) of multiple disability (MD) classrooms.Â
For high school students that access their education in these classrooms, they can be scheduled into Integrated Math-E and Integrated Math Support-E courses (1-3).

When scheduling students with disabilities served in high incidence or emotional disturbed classrooms, please use the guidance below from the Special Education Department.Â
Scheduling for Inclusion
Scheduling students with disabilities into general education inclusion classrooms with a co-teacher can be completed in Infinite Campus (IC). There is no required method to schedule using IC. Administrators have the flexibility to schedule based on the unique needs of their school.
- The general education teacher is the primary teacher for the general education students. The special education teacher is the primary teacher for the special education students.
- This option reflects two separate rosters with two sections in the same space.
- The general education teacher will have access to see and enter attendance for the special education students.
- Grading should be a collaborative effort. However, it is recommended that the special education teacher grade assignments he/she provided accommodations and/or modifications to. This ensures the students’ grade accurately reflects the accommodation or modification. Collaboration and communication amongst both teachers regarding ALL students is vital in co-teaching classroom environments.
Important Notes
The Part Time Hourly SPED teachers (tutors) are not the teacher of record for students, however their services should be provided in the inclusive model and support services for at-risk students (i.e. Tier 2, etc.).
- To add staff to a course (Tutors, HI teachers, and ED teachers) that are not teachers of record, follow the instructions here. This will add the staff to the course so that they can see the students in Infinite Campus and other applications (i-Ready, etc.) but they will not be able to take attendance or enter grades.
