Rule Description

If a student is absent, a comment must be entered for any attendance code used with the exception of Absent Unknown and Absent Unexcused. A comment providing details to the excuse code must be entered in each period for the respective excuse code. See the guidelines here for more details.

How to resolve violations AND prevent future violations

Review the instructions for Daily Attendance (Elementary) OR Period Attendance (Secondary) on the Infinite Campus Dashboard.
When editing attendance codes, comments are required when codes other than UNX or EUX are used.

Log in to Certify review the Data Validation Results table. Determine which students and dates need to be reviewed.
On Infinite Campus search for the students reported by Certify and review the Attendance tab.
- Search > Student
Open the Attendance tab
Search for the day in question
Review and make sure that each line has a comment where applicable.
