When students have accrued 9 Parent Authorized Absent codes a flag can be started. The PA Limit Reached flag will assist users when entering attendance notes. To add a flag, complete the steps below.
- Search for the student.
- Click on the student’s Flags tab
- Click New at the top of the screen. The Student Flag Detail window will open. (See below)
- Select the flag name from the drop-down menu.
- PA LIMIT REACHED
- Enter the current date in the Start Date field.
- Enter the end date - The PA LIMIT REACHED flag will expire on the last day of the school year or, if the student brings documentation that lowers the amount of absences to less than 9. Failure to enter an end date will result in the flag rolling over to the next school year.
- User Warning: what is entered in this field will display when hovering the cursor over the flag.
- Click Save. The flag will display next to the student’s name after refreshing the page.
TIP
In the User Warning, enter your username and date so that others know who created the flag and when as they hover their cursor over the flag.
If it is known when the flag should end, for example, an Order of Protection expires on a certain date, enter the End Date when entering the Start Date.
Students with fewer than 9 days equivalent Parent Authorized Absent Minutes must have PA Limit Flag ENDED
Users will receive a Certify notification when students have a PA Limit Reached flag but do not have an accumulation of 9 Parent Authorized Absences. If this notification is received end date the PA Limit Reached flag using the date of the student's last Parent Authorized Absence.
