New Schedulers - Master Scheduling Overview

  • This is a 1-hour training for those new to Master Scheduling, or new to the process in Infinite Campus

  • In this course we will outline the entire master scheduling process in preparation for the remainder of the training courses.

  • REQUIRED This training is required for all new schedulers

  • This is a 1-hour training to help understand how to get student course requests entered

  • In this course we will cover entering student course request methods, including:
    - mass request entry via the Request Wizard
    - individual student entry via the Walk-In Scheduler
    - teacher recommendations
    - Students/Parents entering requests via the portal

  • This is a 2-hour training to understand the process setting up courses & sections

  • We will cover:

    • Adding new courses to your course deck

    • Removing unused courses

    • Adding new sections / Removing unused sections

    • Assigning teachers, rooms, terms & periods

    • Run reports to determine what you offered last year to help plan for next year

    • (warning) NOTE: This training does NOT cover the schedule wizard. This will be in a later session.

Using the Schedule Wizard

  • This is a 2-hour training to understand how to use the Schedule Wizard to load students into your master schedule

  • We will cover:

    • Logging in to the Schedule Wizard

    • Overview of the different screens and menus

    • Scheduling Rules

    • Loading & Unloading students into your schedule

    • Adding new sections / Removing unused sections

    • Updating teachers, rooms, & section numbers

    • Running reports to check progress

Responsive Scheduling (NEW)

  • This is a 1-hour training to understand how to use the Responsive Scheduling module to add more flexibility in your school day throughout the year.

  • Responsive Scheduling tools allow schools to establish a special period of the day as focused instruction on a particular topic, referred to as an Offering. These offerings should be considered as additional instruction time. A teacher can offer a session for those students in an English class the chance to make up a missed test, while other students in that English class would be scheduled into a different offering of their choosing or their teacher's choosing.

    This period of the day can happen multiple times a day, for an entire day during the week, once a month, once a term, etc.

  • Sometimes referred to as Flex Time, Intervention Programming, Enrichment Courses, etc. It allows schools to be more flexible when it comes to course offerings and meeting the needs of the student, whether that means more one on one time or advanced learning opportunities, or an option to take part in learning something new.

  • This session is mostly to go over the possibilities with Responsive Scheduling and gauge interest in the tool/process.
