The behavior referral tool in Infinite Campus allows staff to submit behavior incidents electronically via Infinite Campus.  This method can be used instead of filling out a paper form that is sent to the office for manual entry.  The video link below illustrates this process.

Create a new Referral


Path:  Index > Behavior > Behavior Referral

  • Click the New Button at the top of the screen
  • Incident Detail Information
    • Required Fieldse
      • Alignment - Defaults to Discipline
      • Date of Incident - Defaults to current date
      • Time of Incident - Defaults to current time
      • Notify - Select one or more administrators
    • Other fields
      • Title - Choose a meaningful title
      • Context - Choose the most appropriate context from the list
      • Context Description - Add more detail here if necessary
      • Location - Choose the most appropriate location from the list
      • Building IRN - Not used
      • Damages - Dollar amount of items to be replaced (if known) - seldom used
      • Details - Enter general details here.  Do NOT enter specific details (student names, etc.), as these are added later.  Information entered here appears on behavior letters that go home.
  • Enter Events & Participants
    • Click the Add Event / Participant button
      • Choose the Event Type from the drop-list (please review the list and choose the item most closely related to the event)
      • Reported by - leave blank
      • Action Assigned by - leave blank
      • Add Participants
        • By default the filter is set to students.  Type in all or part of the student name in the search box and click the Search button
        • Choose the correct student from the list by clicking on their name
        • Add Participant Details
          • Role - Choose the most appropriate item from the list (defaults to offender)
          • Injury - If there was an injury involved, choose the most appropriate option (defaults to no injury)
            • if there was an injury, add an Injury Description and check the box if medical service was provided
          • Details - Add details to the event as it pertains to this student.  This is where you can be specific with student names, etc.  
        • If there are additional participants, repeat the steps above.
        • When finished, click Save. 
  • After all details and participants have been entered, click the Submit button at the top of the screen.
  • A message will appear indicating that the behavior event has been submitted.
