Elementary school teachers, including 6th grade teachers at K-6 schools, enter attendance only in the morning.  The exception is ½ day PK teachers who also enter attendance for their afternoon class.

Please keep in mind:

  • IT IS IMPORTANT TO CLICK SAVE FOR THE ATTENDANCE PERIOD EVEN IF ALL STUDENTS ARE PRESENT.

  • ENTER ATTENDANCE EACH MORNING IN A TIMELY MANNER.

  • DO NOT ENTER TARDIES FOR STUDENTS LATE TO SCHOOL.

  1. In Campus Instruction, click the Attendance module on the Action Bar.  The number indicates the number of periods that need attendance entered.  Elementary teachers, including 6th grade teachers at K-6 schools, will enter attendance for the Period that starts with H1 ONLY.  Ignore all other attendance periods that display on the screen.  DO NOT ENTER ATTENDANCE FOR ANY OTHER PERIOD.  Exception: PK teachers with ½ day PK classes will need to take attendance for their PM class as well as the AM class.

  2. The attendance will open for the current period.  Click the Period that starts with H1 if it is not selected.

  3. Three columns display to the right of the student names.  P=Present; A= Absent; T=Tardy.  All students are considered Present by default.

  4. Click on the A for the applicable student to mark that student absent from class.  Once a student is marked absent, a comment can be entered.  Keep in mind that the comment can be viewed on the Parent Portal.

    1. With few exceptions, elementary teachers should not click on the T.  The T is for students who are tardy to class, not tardy to school.  When students are tardy to school and sign in at the office, the secretary will enter the tardy.

  5. If the student has been marked absent or tardy for school by the office, the teacher cannot enter an absence.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO CLICK SAVE FOR THE ATTENDANCE PERIOD EVEN IF ALL STUDENTS ARE PRESENT.
