The Work Number

Columbus City Schools contracts with The Work Number to provide employment verification services. If an employee calls to request an employment verification, our first response should be to ask for more information as to the type of verification they are requesting, and then, more often then not, refer them to The Work Number. In the content below we will cover the type of information The Work Number will verify, as well as what to do if it is a verification Human Resources needs to complete rather than referring the caller.

What Information is provided?

Verification of Employment

• • Name
  • Most recent hire date
  • Termination date (if no longer employed)
  • Total time with Columbus City Schools
  • Job title

Income Verification (Employee will need to provide verifying company with a Salary Key)

• • Rate of Pay
  • Gross earnings for current year to date, including base pay, overtime, bonuses and commissions
  • Gross earnings for last year and two years past, including base pay, overtime, bonuses, and commissions
