  • Our advisors ran into a few obstacles accurately pinpointing class lists in Infinite Campus (identifying the difference between cohort lists and grade level lists)

Class Lists by Grade Level or Cohort Year

Students in Infinite Campus have a grade level to which they are assigned in their school (9,10,11,12) but they also have a cohort year, which is the calendar year in which they should graduate, based on their 9th grade entry date.  If a student is on track to graduate, cohort year should be 4 school years after their 9th grade entry date.  Often times however, students do not meet the requirements to move on to the next grade level, so their grade might not increment, but the cohort year remains the same.  For this reason, it can be useful to run class lists by cohort year rather than grade level.

  • Our advisors could also use a consistent method to run reports that classify students by GPA and/or ACT/SAT test scores, so advisors can easily meet with students that fit particular scholarship or college admissions criteria

  • Lastly, our advisors could really benefit from a wide-ranging overview of CCS student & staff demographics, what the data means? Where does the data pull from? When/how often does some of the data feed into Infinite Campus (ACT Scores, flags etc.)?
