Processing Academic Grades of Transfer Students

This guideline governs the process for grading students who transfer into or between Columbus City Schools after the beginning of the school year.

Transfer students must successfully pass at least two grading increments for a yearlong course, according to the CCS Grading Policy.

Scenarios covered in this guideline: 

  • Grading for students who enroll with in-progress grades for the same or “like” courses

  • Grading for students who enroll with transcribed grades for the same or “like” courses

  • Grading for students who have an enrollment date ON or BEFORE the first day of the 2nd quarter and have NO in-progress grades for the same or “like” courses

  • Grading for students who have an enrollment date AFTER the first day of 2nd quarter that require quarter and final grades for semester and year-long courses and have NO in-progress grades for the same or “like” courses
