Google Classroom for Second Semester 20-21

This information applies to secondary teachers teaching 1.0 credit courses.

As you are aware, most year-long, 1.0 credit courses are split into two 0.5 credit courses this school year.  While this generally does not impact how teachers are teaching these courses (they consider them as one course for the most part), there are some differences in setup for Infinite Campus and Google Classroom.

For example, consider the schedule below for first semester:

Some teachers have asked if the Google Classroom they created for a first semester course/section will ‘switch over’ to the corresponding second semester course/section.  The answer is no, it will not.

Teachers had to create separate Google Classrooms up for all 5 courses taught first semester (noted in blue above) either because they are a different course altogether or they are a different section of the same course.  The same is true for second semester – there is no correlation between first and second semester courses (i.e. 915000.1 & 915000.2 in the example above), even if they are the same section number.
