Troubleshooting Parent/Student Portal **
If a parent or student has difficulty signing into the portal, they should contact the school office. If it cannot be resolved at the school level, please have a school staff member first RETIRED - Submit a Campus Support Form (Ticket) or contact the Help Desk at 8425.
Student Portal
Students log into the portal on the Student page of the CCS website: www.ccsoh.us. Students log into the portal using his/her student number and the date of birth in the MM-DD-YYYY format. Note: dashes are to be used instead of slashes between the month, day, and year.
If the student has entered the information and still needs assistance:
- Verify that the student is on the log on screen for the student portal.
- Verify that the student is using the correct student number.
- Verify that the student is using dashes (-) in the date of birth and not slashes (/)
- Verify that the student’s date of birth in Infinite Campus matches the date of birth that the student is entering.
If the student is still unsuccessful in logging onto the student portal, please have a school staff member contact the Help Desk at 8425.
Parent Portal
Parents/Guardians log into the portal using the Parent Portal link on the Parent page of the CCS website: www.ccsoh.us. Note: the portal url address to access the log on screen is the same for parents/guardians and students.
The Parent/Guardian Forgot username/password:
If the parent/guardian cannot recall their username and/or password that he/she created and if their email address was entered in the portal during setup, they can request the information be emailed via the portal log on screen.
- From the log on page, the parent/guardian clicks Forgot your password? or Forgot your username?
- The information will be emailed to the parent/guardian's recovery email address.
The Parent/Guardian cannot log in and cannot recover the username and/or password:
If the parent/guardian has tried to recover the username and/or password, but still cannot log in:
- Notify the parent that their account will be deleted and they will have to re-create their account.
- On the Search tab, select All People and search for the parent's name.
- Provide the parent with his or her Activation Key (GUID). Please do not give the parent the student's GUID.
- Let the parent know it could take 2-3 days before they can recreate the account.
- Advise the parent to enter a Recovery email address in Account Settings once the account is created.
- Have the designated staff person submit a Help Desk Ticket at http://tinyurl.com/campusform2 to have the parent/guardian account deleted. Please include the following:
- The parent's name.
- The student's name or one of the children's name if there are multiple children enrolled in the Columbus City Schools.
- The relationship to the child.
The Parent/Guardian does not have an Activation Key:
The parent/guardian may not have received an Activation Key if:
- The student was not enrolled in your school at the time the letters were generated.
- Note: if the parent already has an account for the student's prior school, the parent does not need to create a new account at the new school. The Portal will update to reflect the student's new school.
- The person is not checked as the parent/guardian for the student. See 'Checking Parent/Guardian Check Box' detailed instructions.
- The Activation Key has been misplaced.
- On the Search tab, select All People.
- Search for the parent's name.
- Provide the parent with his or her Activation Code (GUID). Please do not give the parent the student's GUID.
Messages revert to Student's Home School:
Parents/guardians, and even students generally think that messages in the Portal should display for the selected school when students are enrolled into more than one school. However, messages from all schools that the student attends and for all students in the household display on the Welcome screen and on the Messages page when the parent/guardian logs on to the portal, no matter what school or student is selected from the drop-down list.
