Student Course Requests via Portal - Setup



PLEASE NOTE: With the roll out of Schoolinks this year and students working with counselors to create course plans, we do not plan to utilize the portal to gather student requests in 23-24 for grades 8-11. If you choose, middle schools can still utilize the portal for students in 6th and 7th grade.

 

Before starting, schools need to make sure that:

  1. Courses are set up to allow course requests

  2. Course Registration is turned on (send a ticket for assistance when you are ready to turn on/off access for students)

    1. Campus Core Team - go to this page for instructions to open the portal for course registration

  3. Students are able to log into the portal with their username (studentID) and password (birthday in MM-DD-YYYY format)

  4. Students have made their choices and are ready to enter them into Campus

Course Setup

Each course you would like to have students select from must be configured. To do this:

  • Make sure the NEXT school year is selected at the top of the screen

  • Search > Course/Section

  • Click "Go" to return all courses

  • Select a course

  • Check the "Allow Student Requests" checkbox

  • Click Save

  • Repeat for each course you want to have available for students to select from





 



The Allow student requests checkbox must be checked for EACH course you wish students to be able to see in the portal.  You should also make sure that any course that you DO NOT want students to request has this box un-checked.
