  1. Can I access the District Intranet from home?
    1. No, for security reasons it is restricted to the school network.
  2. I cannot get to the internet at all, how can this be resolved?
    1. Try to use IE to reach a common website search engine like Yahoo or Google, if you cannot reach ANY website it is possible a student has installed a Proxy that will need removed or your network cable/wireless access is disconnected. Perform the steps you would normally take when you have connection problems and if you cannot resolve the problem call the helpdesk at 8425 to have a tech sent out to look into the matter.
  3. Can I have the website www.?????.com unblocked?
    1. Please follow this Link http://cpsnet.columbus.k12.oh.us/applications/cpsnet.nsf/inet/UnblockingRequest?opendocument Read the letter and click on the link at the bottom you will need to log into the form as an employee, you will then need to fill out the form with the educational or school need the site will fulfill. When you Submit the request it will go straight to the team that makes the determination of if it is acceptable. The IT team of the district will then unblock the site if the determination is made that the site is needed but we cannot unblock sites without the prior approval of the district.
  4. My homepage no longer goes to the CCS Net page?

    2. However to reset the home page  click on tools on your IE browser
    3. Click internet options
    4. Under Home page enter  link above and click apply
  5. I am unable to access the internet. What can be done to resolve this issue?
    1. Please check the Ethernet cable to insure it is connect.
    2. Also check other sites it could be that the site you are trying to access might be down
  6. I had access to YouTube but now I receive the Websense Block error.
    1. Type in the address: https://youtube.com in your browser, and YouTube should display.
  7. How do I clean my cache and history?
    1. Depending on the browser, for Internet Explorer click on "Tools"/Options/General tab, then go to browsing history section and click "delete". For Firefox click on go to Tools/Clear Recent History, check the first 4 (Browsing & Download History, Form & Search History,Cookies and Cache)

  10. How do I open firefox if it is not installed on my computer?
    1. Open CCSSoftware folder, click on a firefox icon and type address as needed.
  11. How long does it take to unblock a website?
    1. Regular meetings are held to discuss the online request forms for unblocking. These are then sent to administrators to unblock them. Though the process is relatively quick due to frequency of the meetings, but an exact time frame cannot be given.
  12. My home page has changed; how do I change it back to the standard page?
    1. When using IE go to tools and internet options, under the homepage section type CCSNET and select Apply and then OK.
