From time to time there will be issues with a number of different viruses/spyware. The way that we deal with these issues at CCS is with the Sophos virus protection software.
Troubleshooting:

  1. When an error occurs open the Sophos application either through Start/All programs/Sophos. Or through the Sophos icon at the bottom right of the screen.

*TIP you can also navigate to the affected drive/folder/document, hover over the icon and right click. Then click scan with Sophos.

  1. Select Scan my computer. This will run a scan of the infected computer.
  2. Once the scan has finished, a list of infected files and options of what to perform will pop up.
  3. You can then choose how you want to deal with the issue in the Quarantine manager.

Options:

  1. Clean up. Select the items displaying this option and then click 'Perform action | Clean up'

  1. Partially removed. Reboot required to complete the cleanup

Select these items and then click 'Clear from List.' Click on 'Home' and then 'Scan my Computer' to initiate a scan. Once the scan has complete, return to the Quarantine Manager to deal with any remaining items.
