Severance and Enhanced Severance are paid within 60 days of retirement. The difference between Severance and Enhanced Severance is the amount which is paid. The eligibility to receive Enhanced Severance rather than regular severance is based solely on the amount of notice the employee gave Human Resources of their intention to retire. If notice of intent is received in Human Resources by February 1st (effective date of retirement May 31st - October 31st), or if written notice is received after September 1st and 90 days before effective date of retirement when effective date is November 1st - May 31st
