Create a new Referral

3 | Incident Information | Required Fields - Alignment - Defaults to Discipline
- Date of Incident - Defaults to current date
- Time of Incident - Defaults to current time
- Notify - Select one or more administrators
Other fields - Title - Leave Blank, The system will populate the field with the Event Name when the record is saved.
- Context - Choose the most appropriate context from the list
- Context Description - Add more detail here if necessary
- Location - Choose the most appropriate location from the list
- Building IRN - Not used
- Damages - Dollar amount of items to be replaced (if known) - seldom used
| Make sure the date of the incident and the time AM and PM are reflected properly. |
4 | Incident Details | - It is important that confidential student information is not inappropriately released by including it in this field. It is important to provide details that are objective and fact based.
| Do NOT enter specific details (student names, etc.), as these are added later. Information entered here appears on behavior letters that go home. |
5 | Enter Events | - Click the Add Event / Participant button
- Choose the Event Type from the drop-list
| Review the list and choose the item that most closely matches the event. |
6 | Enter Participants | - By default the filter is set to students. Type in all or part of the student name in the search box and click the Search button
- Choose the correct student from the list by clicking on their name

7 | Add Participant Details | - Role - Choose the most appropriate item from the list (defaults to offender)
- Injury - If there was an injury involved, choose the most appropriate option (defaults to no injury)
- if there was an injury, add an Injury Description and check the box if medical service was provided
- Details - This field provides an area for the administrator to add more details for the behavior Event specific to each student involved. Do not enter any student names in this field. Not recording event/participant details will result in building Certify violation.
- Display on Portal – Do not check this checkbox. The district settings for Parent Portal do not allow viewing of Behavior records; however, this box should never be checked.
- If there are additional participants, repeat the step 6 and 7 for each participant.
- Click Save Draft

8 | Submit | - After all details and participants have been entered, click the Submit button at the top of the screen.
- Although, printing a copy of the Behavior Referral is not required, instructions for printing can be found here => Print Behavior Detail Report
| A message will appear indicating that the behavior event has been submitted. |
