Columbus City Schools has modernized the popular School Choice Lottery with a new paperless online process.  The application process will begin earlier than in years past. Beginning in January for high schools and middle schools and in February for elementary schools.  Families will have the opportunity to explore the many school and program options that Columbus City Schools has to offer at our upcoming School Choice Fairs.  The application process is easy and is completed on a personal computer, smart phone or tablet device.   Families will have an opportunity to set-up their Parent Portal and create School Choice application at the School Choice Fairs.  Personal technical assistance creating the Parent Portal account and School Choice application process will be available at the School Choice fair.

School Choice

Our District’s commitment to School Choice uniquely offers students a variety of high-quality educational options at all levels by giving families a choice on deciding where their children attend school to learn and grow. The School Choice Lottery is widely popular, with nearly 20,000 applications each year.

Internet access, free-to-use computer kiosks are available to complete the School Choice Lottery applications at our Central Enrollment Center, 430 Cleveland Ave, Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Infinite Campus Parent Portal Access

Families considering

applying to

submitting a School Choice Lottery application for another school in the District, will need access to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.  Each parent / guardian has a personalized Parent Portal Global Unique Identifier (GUID) key.  This key is provided for the first-time set-up of the Infinite Campus Parent Portal account.  Parents will contact their child's school to obtain the Parent Portal GUID.  A photo ID is required to obtain the personalized GUID.

Interdistrict Open Enrollment 

(For a full-time transfer to a COLUMBUS CITY SCHOOL from another school district)

Families interested in applying for Interdistrict Open Enrollment
for the 2018-19 school year
, must apply via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.  For students not currently enrolled, parents must complete the enrollment process in order to receive their access code for the Parent Portal.  Completing the enrollment process does not guarantee an IOE placement.
