Master Scheduling for Elementary Schools

This following pages are intended for Elementary or K-8 Schools only. The following information is to provide instruction on how to complete the Master Scheduling process. The process is broken into two parts: the Master Scheduling Build process and the Master Scheduling Load process.

The Master Scheduling Build process will consist of adding courses, creating sections, adding teachers, editing room numbers, creating or editing teams, and checking period placements.

The Master Scheduling Load process will consist of reviewing the work from the Build process, adding requests through the Request Wizard, completing special requests for students, completing setup in the Schedule Wizard, manually loading students, and reviewing all changes by reviewing the Master Schedule Report and Section RostersStarting in the 23/24 SY, the following changes will go into effect:

  • The LUNCH period has been removed from all CCS Elementary Schools.

    • This will mean that schools will NO LONGER ‘Roll’ attendance, but instead this process will be automated. All schools will have H1 – H7 ONLY as part of their Elementary Attendance period.

  • The Activity period has been added to all CCS Elementary Schools.

    • The Activity period will be used during the school year for various reasons, such as ELO.  However, one important reason will be to add the Educational Access course to eligible students.

    • The Educational Access course allows FCCS staff members, that have permission to work with our foster placed students, access to their educational information.  This course has been added to every school by the Infinite Campus Support Team, and every student in the District who is Foster Placed will be scheduled into this course. There will be some course and section setup required. However, once school starts, all scheduling for these students will be handled by Central Enrollment Staff ONLY.

  • All Special Education Courses have been removed from CCS Elementary Schools. 

    • We will no longer be using “E” courses, except for APE & Vocational Studies courses (these are the only exceptions).  It is the intent of the Department of Specialized Instruction and Inclusion, in collaboration with the entire Academic Services team, that students with disabilities are afforded opportunities to be educated with their typical peers as often as possible (based upon the school schedule) and appropriate (based upon their learning needs).

    • What this means:  Students with disabilities will be educated in the general education setting (with or without accommodations) or in a co-taught/inclusionary setting within minimal “pull-out” services.

Any course whose course number starts with an ‘N’ (No Show, Unable to Locate, Gifted Academy, Support Center, etc.) can be assigned the section number 9999.
