Info
titleWhat is HQT?

The Federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), which took effect in 2002, requires that all teachers be highly qualified in the core academic content area(s) they teach.  Since your “highly qualified” status is based on the actual courses you teach, this information has to be reported every school year.  It does not matter if you completed this information last school year; it will need to be reported again per the Ohio Department of Education.  Ohio will continue to require highly qualified teachers in core academic subjects in the 2017-2018 school year as dictated by current state legislation, report card requirements and the state equity plan.
